First Day of School Frame

I've been seeing a lot of cute first day of school frames and knew I had to make one!  I had my dad make me a simple wooden frame out of plywood and then I spray-painted it black.  Next, I bought sticky foam letters and wooden cutouts from Hobby Lobby!  The letters stuck on all by themselves and I hot glued the cutouts to the frame.  Here’s what I came up with:

First Day of School Frame

I can’t wait to use it!  I’m going to have each student hold it up on the first day of school and I’ll snap a photo.  It will be a great keepsake for families {and me!}!

First Day of School Frame

Since I didn’t have any students around to try it out, I found a different model ;)  Thanks Izzy!

On another note, I found a new hobby!!  After a few comments on the phone clip art I made for my iStudent file yesterday, I tried my hand at making more clip art!  Despite the hours it took me to figure it all out, it was really fun to make!  I now have four products in my TPT store!  {I even got my first “you sold a product” email today…. eeeeek!!!!!} Here comes my shameless self-promotion:

I have many more posts scheduled for this week (or next week… depending on when I get my classroom done!), including the best pencil sharpener ever, a fabulous design company who I just got the cutest notecards from, more Ghana photos, teaching students cyber safety, and a great way to organize your YouTube files!  Clearly, I’m going to be busy…

  7. I love love love the Monday Made It - you are too cute! And that pup is gorgeous! As for your files - I agree, pricing is HARD to do. But, I think your price is just right... if not too cheap! You put some hard work into that and I truly love the outcome! Cannot wait to see what else you come up with :)

  8. It turned out so cute! Your model was very cooperative-my puppy was scared of the frame I made! I guess that's not a good sign. :)
