Hello, I'm Kate! Thank you for stopping by my blog! I am an elementary school counselor at a Title I school in Northwest Ohio. I am very fortunate to work at a school with diverse students, a supportive community, and a wonderful staff. I am passionate about creating lessons that both educate and inspire children, which is where I got the idea for my blog name! I also enjoy helping other counselors with technology, organization, and program planning.
I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a dual master's degree in School Counseling and Community Counseling. Before I became a school counselor, I spent eight years as a classroom teacher. I loved teaching, but quickly found that my true passion was meeting the social-emotional needs of my students.
In addition to being a school counselor, I also work part-time as a children's therapist at a private practice. I am passionate about using play therapy techniques and solution-focused counseling to help children explore their problems in a non-threatening manner. As a dually licensed counselor, I understand the importance of working with schools and families to develop a supportive, team approach.
